Letterbox Brain
A free effect and generator for framing, matte, safe-area, and guide overlays, being prepared for public release.
What it is
A free launch effect and generator for editors who need framing guides, matte control, and a cleaner way to prepare work across supported Film Grain Brain hosts. Public installer and access paths will open with the FGB FX release.
Downloads and updates
Letterbox Brain is free. Approved releases will be available here without an account or email signup. Update emails are optional.
Final Cut Pro
Coming soon. No public release is available for this editor yet.
DaVinci Resolve
Coming soon. No public release is available for this editor yet.
How to install an update
Back up important projects, check the release requirements, and close your editors. Run the newer signed installer, then reopen your editor. Updates should replace the existing product, not add another copy. If an effect is missing or duplicated, stop and contact support rather than deleting plug-in files.
Downloading does not update an installed copy automatically. Keep your previous installer if you need to return to it, and check compatibility before opening newer projects in an older version.
